Hi Hunter, I would love to hear your thoughts on the Holy Spirit. On one of your Instagram threads you said you would get to the topic of the tongues, and I’m eager to hear. Growing up in a Slavic Pentecostal church, speaking tongues is a big deal and basically that’s how you know you have the Holy Spirit. And it’s not the charismatic Pentecostal church you hear of today. It’s very conservative and back in the Soviet Union and even now, they have prayers that last for hours where everyone in praying in tongues. I’m very conflicted with what to believe once I started hearing how others explain having the Holy Spirit without speaking tongues.
The topic of the Holy Spirit is so broad and multi-faceted, I decided to zoom in on the topic of tongues since you included that as a big part of your comment. I feel like gaining some perspective on that aspect might help sort out some of the other ideas about the Holy Spirit.
I love the way you go into depth and explain things so I could make a huge list of topics for you 😂 but I just listened to the video you shared “Church of Tares” and I was wondering if you could share more about the church. Growing up I was taught almost as if the church building itself was a temple. Pretty much you had to act more “holy” because you were in the building. This teaching is based off Jesus saying, “My house shall be called a house of prayer.” (Matt 21:13) It may be that this came from the Orthodox and Catholic and was adopted into the Protestant church

Dasha,
