In recent months, I’ve taken a break from writing Substack posts to work on another writing project: music!
This is a brief post to announce the release of my EP album, Moxie, in the coming days. It will be available on all major streaming services and for purchase on iTunes.
If you’ve enjoyed my writing on Instagram or Substack this past year, streaming my music will be a simple way you can support my work!
(Album sneak peek: “Psalm 1”)
Produced from my bedroom closet (as a one-man-band with nothing but an iPhone, a free app, and a 15 track limit per song), Moxie reflects on the tension of the Christian life and the struggle we all face to lay down our works, our pride, and our striving, and just rest in grace.
The oldest song on the album (from which the album derives its name) was written 13 years ago (when I was 19) at the request of an atheist friend who said, “You should write a song about having moxie.” (She pointed gun fingers to indicate how gutsy we were.) I don’t think the song went the direction she expected.
The newest was written just two months ago.
I look forward to sharing it with you. Stay tuned!
